We're out of state, and our daughter was offered some sort of full scholarship, so I remember thinking that they are defintitely trying to attract good students from out-of-state as well.

It seems to be a really good school (EECS department, anyway), our daughter had just a wonderful visit to a lab she was interested in - she was very impressed with the people there, both technically and from a personal standpoint. I also had a long conversation with the Dean of Engineering who struck me as a very caring person and who had some wonderful advice.

She didn't wind up going there, so we can't give that sort of recommendation, but we were impressed all-around, and it's worth serious consideration.
