I don't think it really matters, but you might get some polite teasing from friends about the age gap (just because it's more obvious there is an age gap when you are in different years of college). I'm a 22 year old girl dating a guy who is about to turn 26, but since he didn't go to college straight away, I actually am ahead of him in school even though I'm younger. So next year I'll be a 1st year grad student dating a 5th year undergrad. I'm not sure how many of his friends actually know he's almost 26.
