I know we'll get more info in May, but in what subjects are ASEs ususally offered for freshman? How do they work with credit, etc?

My specific problem is with physics - I've taken mechanics for two years, but my AP class does not cover the E/M portion, and MIT only gives credit for a 5 on both parts. Would I be able to use an ASE to test out of 8.01, or will I be looking at yet another semester of mechanics?
