| The Admissions Office meets with coaches for all our DIII sports and definitely takes into account the ranking of recruits for each sport. Some teams have a lot of needs and others don't. Some coaches do a lot of recruiting and others don't. The goal is to field competitive teams for each sport while also maintaining the academic standards of the University.
In my experience, there are certain DIII sports that are given more attention because of their status as a major sport or a successful team. For JHU that would include soccer, swimming, football, basketball, and baseball. In no way is that to say that other sports like wrestling or fencing or crew or track, etc. are ignored or their recruits do not matter. Each year it will change. |
