My kid got accepted today too! Very exciting, since it came with a good $ package. Now it's decision time!
We're going to revisit SUNY, Pitt, Penn State and Ohio U as soon as possible to narrow it down. It would help if my kid was absolutely sure of a major, or even whether to go to an urban or rural campus.
It's narrowed down to SUNY (pharmacy), Pitt (neuroscience), Ohio U (biology-minor neuroscience) or Penn State (biochem or molecular biology). U-Conn (first choice but no money), Duquesne (too expensive), and Ohio State (might as well go to PSU) have been dropped off the list of finalists. Still waiting to hear whether my kid got into the Toledo pharmacy guaranteed program, which would probably put Toledo on the finalist list.
SUNY is the best value by far and an older sibling liked it there, but Pitt is known for its biomedical programs. Ohio U is praised the most by its students in every book/student review site we've seen. PSU offers a lot of options, but I'm guessing it will be the first finalist to be dropped. I can't wait to buy THE TEE-SHIRT!!!!! You know, the one for your college that you wear to high school for the first time!!!
