Momsdream- you know your child best and usually Mom's are pretty good at knowing when there is a problem. Whether it is appropriate for 1st graders to read chapter books doesn't really matter. You will feel better if you have explored all the options. If the tester is good it shouldn't be stressful at all for your D. I know with my son the tester allow time for handball breaks in the middle of testing when he was in 2nd grade.
