When my daughter was in the process of making her final decision, I made a chart listing all the classes an MT student takes at UArts organized by semester with the number of credits and number of class hours as stated in the website curriculum page. If you are interested in it, send me an email (not a PM) and I'll get it to you as a Word file attachment. In addition to the class/studio hours, all of my daughter's friends who are in BFA programs in acting or MT tell us that there is also a good bit of out of class time required. The classes add up to 25.5 hours minimum the first semester so I bet that including out of class time you are looking at 40 - 50 hour weeks minimum not including rehearsals. But it's all good - my daughter sat in on classes last Friday and this past Monday, came home absolutely enthralled and has now announced that she is done with high school, intends to cut as many days as possible without hurting her GPA and send her H.S. assignments in by mail and instead is going to hang out with UArts students! Yeesh, it's going to be a long 6 weeks to the end of her senior year. |
