| actually NY also has this four year rule (if i remember correctly), so if the person is four years younger than you but underaged its still legal, sortof a way to protect teenage relationships and abuse of the law. (funny story, before i went to college my parents thought there was a curfew and stuff and they like kept an eye on you....of course i didnt correct them until after i sent in my housing forms)
as for smoking, one of my floormates freshman year used to smoke weed in his room and noone ever confronted him about it. Yes, they did used to have smoking and non-smoking floors in upperclass dorms but they did get rid of that and i'm glad they did cause people used to get stuck on smoking floors when they didnt smoke....however in all suites (except for hartley/wallach) it is up to the suite's occupants whether or not to allow smoking.
It is very easy to get away with having alcohol in "dry" dorms (which include all first year dorms)....as long as your not walking down the hall with a bottle of exposed booze you'll be fine. |
