While City college is a decent school if you are planning on doing engineering or any science go to a University or something. Cuny schools are great for English and history and stuff but awful for engineering and science. Ive tried to take take summer classes there and the level of education was so much lower.

Computer Engineering is a Mix of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Comp sci being mostly Algorithms/Data Structures, Math, Programming. and the ideas of how we can use computers to solve problems. the Electrical Engineering is lower level programming, circuits, signals , high power EE.

What computer engineering does is take the 2 and merge them, some schools call this major EECS.

Here is the Cirriculum from my school, any Abet acreddited school will have a similair but not exact curriculum.

CHE 107 General Chemistry for Engineers*

CSE 115 Introduction to Computer Science for Majors I *
//Main ideas of object oriented programming(OOP) languages are presented, //such as syntax, and polymorphism.

CSE 116 Introduction to Computer Science for Majors II*
//Deeper Level of OOP is shown. we do much more complex projects that deal //with generics or templates, we do bags, Linked lists, stacks, queues, visitors //and some basic algorithms as well as big-oh

CSE 191 Introduction to Discrete Mathematics *
//Into class to Logic and Proofs, you learn proof by induction, contrapositives //and much more.

CSE 250 Algorithms and Data Structures
//Deep insight of algorithm analysis along with BST, AVL tree's. Red black tree's, splay tress, queue's, stacks, Heaps, Graph algorithms.

CSE 305 Introduction to Programming Languages
/intro to why,how and what programming languages are, how they are made, why they are made that way and how to make one.

CSE 341 Computer Organization
//Assembly, memeory, registers things like that.
CSE 379 Introduction to Microprocessors and Microcomputers
CSE 380 Introduction to Microprocessors Lab

CSE 421 Introduction to Operating Systems
//Delves into Operating systems, students learn and develop there own Linux/bsd Distro
CSE 442 Software Engineering
//How to work in a team, lays out how to make the most profit and best design choices. Best ways to develop Massive projects.
CSE 453 Hardware/Software Integrated Systems Design
EAS 204 Thermodynamics or EAS 207 Statics
EAS 305 Applied Probability
EE 202 Circuit Analysis I //DC circuits
EE 203 Circuit Analysis II //AC circuits
EE 303 Signal Analysis and Transform Methods
EE 310 Electronic Devices and Circuits I //electronics
EE 311 Electronic Devices and Circuits II
EE 312 Basic Electronic Instrumentation Laboratory
EE 324 Electromagnetic Theory/Applied Electro magnetics
EE 353 Electronic Circuits Lab

EE 378 Digital Principles
//Boolean Algebra, Minimization, logic gates, assembly and some other stuff
EE 408 Senior Seminar

MTH 141 College Calculus I*
MTH 142 College Calculus II
MTH 241 College Calculus III
MTH 306 Introduction to Differential Equations
MTH 309 Linear Algebra or MTH 437 Numerical Analysis I
PHY 107 Physics I*
PHY 108 Physics II
PHY 158 Physics II Lab
PHY 207 Physics III
PHY 257 Physics III Lab

My major is Comp engineering and EE. I tried to fill in as much as I could. I personally love my discipline and expect to get a good job. If I dont they I will still be satisfied with what I learned.
