Officially you do not however, Penn med accepts an overwhelmingly large amount of students from Penn undergrad so there is definately a perception of it being easier to get into Penn med. However keep in mind that in any given class there are about 150+ premeds and you can be damn sure that most of them will apply to Penn med.

A school will certainly take time to look at the difficulty and amount of coursework you take during your time in college. They also definately consider where you went in the application process. As far as 104 goes, I would do everything you can to try and place out, a lot of students have difficulty with that class, not because you learn anything different from a calc BC course in high school, but because the problems are a hell of a lot tougher. If you place out take Math 115 to fulfill that req. its a much easier class.
