yes it means among other kids in your class, try asking your guidance counselor, some schools don't provide class rank because in many highly competitive schools they believe it hurts their students in college admission (for example, at some schools, a student may rank in the bottom 50% of the class yet still be extremely strong academically, even though the ranking would not seem to reflect this)
