| Not that NYSSMA is not a great experience,because it is, and so is all-state, but if someone does not get into all-state, it has virtually no impact on their future. My first year, I had a 100, sat first chair in the band, then the next year I was surprised that I got a 98, and did not even get an alternate. Although, other kids on the same instrument had the same score and did get one. I still got into all three schools that I auditioned at, and not one of them cared about all-state. I hope everyone did well though, it is really impossible to put a number on music. |
