Receiving the Rensselaer Medal does NOT ensure admission. The school will still look at your GPA, test scores, extra-curriculars, etc. (just like they do with everyone else who applies) before making that decision.
It is my understanding, however, that if you are accepted by RPI, the scholarship then comes automatically if you are a Medal winner.
