Low GPA, good SAT, WIP portfolio

I have a 3.55 UW GPA. Don't know about my ranking, but I'm guessing it's either just in top 10% or just outside of it. Most rigorous course load.

1480/2230 SAT. No SAT IIs so far.

I'm currently completely revamping my portfolio - I don't have new pieces photographed/scanned and online yet, but I have a few old ones from a year or two ago (more fine arts oriented landscapes) here:

1. Blue
2. Yellow
3. Purple
4. Potpourri

They're not very exciting, or really architecture-oriented. More experimentation with colour, back when I just started watercolour.

I've read that GPA+transcript is really important, so with my rather lacklustre school career (upward trend in grades though), should I even bother applying ED? Or shall I go for a fine arts major instead?

Oh, and I'm international. From Canada.
