Well, all of NU aid is need-based. There technically is some merit aid, but that's only for special prizes in the school of music and some for debaters. Avg. student receiving aid gets $23,000 of NU scholarship (this does not include federal grants/loans and work study). There is no difference with regards to aid b/w ED/RD expect that with RD you'll be able to compare packages with that of other schools. Otherwise, NU is very accommodating with its financial aid, avg. loan debt of graduating students is something like $15,000 (roughly) which one of the lowest of the big 10 and really good considering how much it costs to attend.
