I'm not familiar with MSU's study abroad programs, but one difference between State and K College is likely the tone on campus about study abroad. S is a rising soph at K and study abroad is talked about not as, will you be going, but where and when. Virtually every student goes, including kids with year-round heavy commitment EC's like my athlete S. Accommodations are made to allow all students to have the experience. The cost is equal to staying on campus for the equivalent time period (excluding add'l travel) and merit scholarships are applied as well. Since it's one of the components of the K Plan, it's a big priority of the college.
