| I don't think so. They probably will barely look at your grades for the spring semester let alone how strong your courseload is. UCB will likely put a minimum GPA for your final coursework, like a 3.0 or higher (they did for me).
As long as you have all the prerequsites complete and you have strong grades, you'll do fine.
I can't comment too much on the application process because I imagine it's changed since I applied. I remember working really hard writing the essay. I had it proofread several times by different friends and family members. Other than that, I don't recall the application to be too burdensome.
