The Graduate School Admissions Forum has a featured sticky thread designed to help everyone find the basics easily and quickly. We could really use that here, so I am going to start the process by posting items I have cut and pasted from the forum.
This is NOT complete yet by any means. Please feel free to post additional thoughts and information. Many posters have contributed to the content here – I would like to thank each and every one, but fear forgetting key names. So I will leave that out. You know who you are
