The statements I saw were as follows:
Tuition-$XX,XXX
Room- $X,XXX
Meal Plan -$X,XXX
"Name" Scholarship-$XX,XXX
"Name" Scholarship-$XX,XXX
"Gov. Name" Loan-$X,XXX
The statement did the math and listed a "net" sum (i.e., the total of the charges by the college, less the total of the money from third party sourses) that had to be paid by the student to the college for the semester/year.
Isn't that what all of you experienced? How is that deceptive?
