(Tip of the day: get a Booster Pac at Sears to jump start a car. According to the Triple A guy, you can get one at Sears for $50-60. It’s better than the standard battery charger that has to be plugged in for a length of time. It’s a portable, self-contained jump starter. Apparently it has more power than his truck to jump start a car.)

Thanks for starting this thread, Jym. I remember when Latetoschool talked about the importance of sharing what you know, and I felt compelled to organize my bookmarks to share. I do think there is value to the collective wisdom over time, and many new readers can benefit from the full conversation.

However, I do have a few hesitations in posting a list. IMO, the value of CC is the dynamic discussion. I remind new readers that a list is most helpful if it inspires new discussion and informs your own personal exploration. There is no single right way to approach admissions. In reading CC for a few years, I’ve learned that the consensus of posters and the admissions landscape does change over time.

So it is helpful to read the threads and query the current posters to see if your observations are still valid in light of current experience. Our family found CC to be invaluable for creating ideas. We learned, we developed hunches appropriate to our circumstances, and we took informed risks.

Happy searching. I’m off to my projects. -3Ks
