| researchermom-- sorry, I hadn't noticed your follow-up question. A good amount of schools w/ Early Decision have 2 rounds, like CMC. I think its simply a strategy by the schools to enhance their application pool and yield. The top, top elites don't do it, but many of the next round down do. An example....say Joey doesn't make it ED to Dartmouth, but can still go ED2 to Middlebury, with the belief that this would be a good tactical move assuming a better acceptance rate for Mid's ED2, rather than just RD. |
