| SDSU to UCSD... I decided to go to SDSU instead of UCI. I'm currently a freshman at SDSU majoring in Chemistry. I wanted to major in Chemical Engineering (a major in which SDSU does not offer). I got into the school of engineering at UCI, however I decided not to go there because I wanted to do AFROTC, and to so and attend UCI would mean that I would have had to commute to UCLA ~ 3 times a week and that's just too far.
So, I thought that I could go to SDSU, do ROTC, and transfer to UCSD as a sophmore transfer to major in Chemical Engineering... wrong. I just found out that UCSD is only open to freshman and junior applicants. This is depressing since I really wanted to include my high school stats since they were pretty good in my opinion. I missed UCSD by 200 points mainly due to a very poor essay. I wish I found College Confidential back then! Oh, and don't ask why I didn't just go straight to a CC. That's what I wanted to do, but it's a long and complicated story...
Anyway, so that means another extra year at a school that does not have a Chemical Engineering major. I'd like some advice on whether I should attend community college. Should I finish this school year at SDSU and go to community college next year, then transfer to UCSD? Should I finish this semester at SDSU and go to community college next semester (is that possible?) or should I just stick to SDSU until the end of sophomore year? I went through about 17 pages in this forum and got an understanding that the chances of transferring from a CC to a UC are much more higher than a CSU to UC. I'm afraid that if I stay at SDSU and get rejected from UCSD, then I'm pretty much doomed to graduate from SDSU with a Chemistry degree.
Please help. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You! |
