I don't think colleges reward credit to community college courses though - since community college courses are seen as easy (and personally, I would prefer to take a distance course rather than to face a long ride to a community college, when I want to delay driving as long as possible). But how would a college level course in high school benefit someone? If credit isn't awarded, at least taking upper-level courses does show passion. ANd some universities offer exams - so one could place out of them if the person is strong in math.
