Because NYU wants strongly academic students, the original poster might want to consider putting more time and effort into her studies at school, rather than trying to shape extra curriculars to please the folks at Tisch. If she were my kid, I would tell her that Tisch wants kids with strong grades and test scores and who can give a kick-butt audition. Perhaps the original poster should work on her grades (get rid of those C's if you can
) and begin working with a voice/singing teacher and take some dance classes. Does that sound reasonable? I think it's super that she is looking ahead. Good luck!
