Well yeah sdkdol, but when schools see you've done the SAT 3+ times it kind of makes you look bad. I could do the SAT 5 times and end up with a 2300, but why? Why not get a 1960~2000 and put the energy spent on 5 SAT's into senior year and college essays?

Yea, taking the SAT 3+ times is definitely something that looks bad. But since these girls tried multiple times until they reached 2300s, I'm guessing that the schools they're looking at require 2300+, and if that's the case, someone with a 2000 will have very, very little chance of getting in unless they have fantastic ECs to balance it (like multiple state, national awards and recognition). To me, that is much harder than studying for the SATs, and may not even be possible for some people. And while the 3 retakes look bad for the person who got 2300, they will still have a much better chance of getting in.
