Give more than just one example. For me, Mr. Hyde seems like such an extreme example that it doesn't necessarily explain it... I mean, the people could just as well be hating all his other negative features (the ones they don't have), instead of theirs.
Also, there are grammatical errors and convoluted sentences.

I didn't change much in that paragraph, but I hope you see how much smoother and less repetitive it sounds.
The same minor adjustments can be made to the other paragraphs to make them sound better.
