it's really pathetic how little history i know...

i never knew.... (until recently, anyhow) (or maybe i forgot those facts since i last played age of empires ii, but now i can look up the history i learned from Age of empires ii on wikipedia, and i never done that until now).

tibet wasn't a part of china until emperor kangxi of the qing dynasty established a protectorate over it in the 1700s

britain actually controlled 40% of france at one point in the hundred's year war

japan tried to invade the british colony of india during wwii even as it was losing the war

some turkish tribe defeated the tang dynasty in 751 or something

the dynasty of korea (whatever its name) continued on to rule in name even though it was stuck on an island during the mongol invasion

the emperor of the Khwarezm empire hid on an island after his empire fell to the mongols - the mongols sent assassins after him when he was on the island

northwestern china was part of china during the tang dynasty, but then it became abandoned to others during the ming dynasty. it's now part of china again, although it's dominated by turkish tribes

apparently the western borders of the ming dynasty only stretched as far as the western borders of the han dynasty (the tang dynasty apparently lost it)

oh and the jin dynasty was established by jurchens, who invaded from the manchurian region.

oh and when hideyoshi invaded korea he did hold most of korea including its capitals. but then the koreans and chinese established naval supremacy, which forced the japanese to withdraw. hm

oh and this looks plain weird
