If you can, stick it out. Your opinion might change, or maybe not. How are your grades this semester? If they are not good or simply decent, I would recommend you finish out the year. It might look as though you wanted to take the easy route by going to a community college. I understand this is not the case from your post, but it might come across that way to an adcom. I was considering community college, but then I realized--if i leave now, what am I missing out on? There are so many opportunities for you at your school, try to take advantage of them while you're there. I hope this helps, or at least made you think about it some more.
