Listen to KatMT's advice. She is the head of a Musical Theater program at another college!

First, I would not sing Astonishing. While it is a great song, it is quite overdone in BFA auditions. A client of mine just mentioned wanting to sing it and I told her the same thing. That's two of you right there. In fact, she is also applying to MM! I also would not do I Speak Six Languages for the reasons Kat mentioned.

Kat mentioned composers from traditional musical theater with songs from pre 1970. However, MM has NO requirement that your songs must be pre 1970. I do not see that on their audition requirements. Some of your other schools may want that but this school doesn't, to my knowledge.

It is impossible to suggest songs without knowing your skills and type. Perhaps if you were very very specific about your skills, strengths, type, etc. and even provided songs you sing well, others could suggest songs of a certain kind that are worth looking at. That's hard to do without knowing you but might set you off in a direction to listen to sound clips of those songs and to choose some that might be suitable for you and then get the sheet music and run those songs with your voice teacher and get a live opinion as to which one is most appropriate that sells you.
