Let's say I'm super-interested in backgammon. Would expressing my love of backgammon as a 'creative work' work? It does show more of your personal side. Or is it a bit too...uncommon?

And no, in reality, I don't even know how to play backgammon, but I do have an interesting idea for my essay, and if backgammon works for this, my topic probably works as well.
