Its always good to have a backup plan... Stanford does have open medical courses where you can attend week-planned lectures for medicine and gain credits thanks to their open medical school policy with the focussed undergrads in pre-med (from what i have heard)... so with that said, if u truly are motivated, i bet u could finish undergrad in 2 years, med school is 3-4 years in some places, and residency is anywhere from 3-7 years (depending on your speciality)... there you get the same amount as if you were going through GWU program... im planning on year around schooling for undergrad, and taking MCATs end of first year- started practicing now.... if your truly set on being a doctor, you should also know what specialty to consider as well... or if your gonna take the simple route-family medicine.... or consultants... surgery is where its at.... if your wondering, i want to go into neurosurgery... so thats about 6 year residency after schooling...
