hmm.. yea. if you don't think you'd be interested, then I guess you can email FOCUS and ask to be removed. I spoke with a rising sophomore and he said he appreciated the FOCUS program because while it is work, if you put in effort it can be a gpa booster. I've heard both bad and good about FOCUS so if the topic doesn't interest you too much, dropping out may be wise for your schedule.

I'm also planning to be a bio major and premed, and because of my FOCUS courses, I can only take two classes first semester, one of which is writing 20. So FOCUS does limit my course choices. However, I was really interested in my cluster topic (Genome Revolution) so that's why I'm sticking with it. Regardless of what you do, I think it'll work out. After all, your FOCUS courses may help you finish up requirements early
