It really depends on the professor. My daughter didn't have any exams during the exam week. A couple of her professors gave exams the (those that had exams), the last day of class. However, a couple of her professors gave the students until the end of exam week to turn in papers. Many students turned them in early and left. Last year's exam schedule is still on Amherst's website. Check it to get a sense of which courses always give exams during exam week. Usually, they're big classes. This won't give you the definite dates but will at least give you some sense of what courses have their exams during exam week. Congratulations on your son's admission to Amherst. It's an awesome college.
