I'm currently in the process of applying ED for the BME program at JHU. According to various websites, the acceptance rate for ED at JHU is around 45-50%. But acceptance rates into the BME program must be much lower, considering it's ranked #1 in the country and all. Can anybody offer some info as to how selective the BME program is for students applying ED?

Also, I have a general question about the Common Application which I couldn't find anywhere on the forums. The JHU supplement asks for two essays, and the Common Application asks for two essays as well, correct? So I have to write two essays which will get attached to my common application and will be sent to every school I apply to which accepts the Common App?
