The McCain pipedream of a health plan has been deemed bad by business (see my thread Bad for Your Health). With or without a financial crisis, it ought not to be implemented as is.

As for the debate, I actually would like Obama to clarify which programs he would consider delaying or scaling back. He has been vague on this subject. McCain, by contrast, keeps pushing his tax cut which has already been shown to increase the deficit more than Obama's original tax plan (he has also mentioned needing to revisit his proposed tax increase on the rich before the crisis broke out, but has not said much since).
