What is the point of this

Enter the total amount you expect to earn in wages, salaries, tips, etc. during the 2009-2010 school year. (9 months)

and the one for the summer.

I don't know if I'll work this summer, and my parents don't want me to work in college so I focus mainly on school, but I don't know if I should at least put some money or what..

What should I do?

Also it asks what I expect to receive from outside scholarships..How the hell am I supposed to know? I'm still applying to them.

Do I put only the ones I know for absolute certain? What about LA TOPS, it only works for Tulane, and not the other schools. Do I put it? It is a randomized amount depending on the school also..so I don't know what to do this is so confusing.
