You need to contact your rector about funds. In my dorm, my rector will usually assign small tasks around the dorm (shoveling, cleaning, etc) to residents in exchange for cash. I think it depends on the dorm, but my rector allows anyone to do this, even if their family doesn't qualify for financial aid.
