Xiggi’s advice about turning SAT prep into a game—the goal of which is to beat the test-writers at their own game—is fantastic. That’s one of the things that Princeton Review does so well. And I agree that almost everyone should prepare on some level for the SAT for the very reasons Xiggi mentions. The SAT primarily tests how well you take the SAT, and most students don’t learn how to do that in school. The students who waltz in and ace the test without any prep are truly few and far between (though it sometimes seems a large percentage of them post to College Confidential
