Look at **************.com or google Ohio state admitted students SAT scores. If he did not take the SAT than just do the conversion for the ACT to SAT. You will be able to see where he stands in the applicant pool.
I don't know if Ohio state has a golf team but that may be a hook for him (I don't know much about golf so I am not familar with the awards he has won). You have not mentioned anything about the rigor of his courses, has he taken any AP's and if so what were his scores? What about SAT subject test?
