This is actually a question for my friend who's applying to Columbia regular. He's planning to take an SAT in december (either SAT 2 Writing or SAT 1) but he doesn't know which he should take. I don't know all his stats, but here are some of them:

Rank: top 10 out of 102 students
SAT1: 1410 (800 M, 610 V)
SAT2: Math 2c 800, Math 1c 780, Bio 770, Writing 590
APs: AP calc AB 4, AP USH 4, AP Eng (taking it now, and our school only offers 4 APs)
lot of extra currics.. dont know exactly, sorry
GPA is about 4.02 or something like that

So my question is whether he should take Writing again in December or take SAT 1 again in december? Wat do u think would better his chances of getting into columbia (remember this is regular decision) ?
