Please Help for ACT!

Last time on the ACT for June 2012 I received a 19 composite score and today when I checked for the results of the September 2012 score I got an 18! I am very sad! Please I need your help, what should I do? I need a 33 in order to get a full scholarship and I need it. I have a 4.07 GPA and all my courses are AP and "A" but the score is not helping. I am currently receiving prep classes through REVOLUTION PREP, but I feel that the time is too short to cover so much topics and I can not ask many questions since we are running against time. My mom is considering a private tutor what do you think? What would you do if you were in my place? I know that I am capable of getting that 33 on the score, but I need guidance because this October for the ACT would be the 3rd test that I am attending and I really want a drastic increase. Thank you!

The first time I got composite score 19 with 16 on English, 19 math, 20 reading and science 21. The second time I got around 19 English, 23 math, 14 reading and 17 science. What would be the best way to study to increase score?

Buy the Red ACT Practice book and do ALL the tests. Time yourself. Mainly the thing to do is practice, practice, practice. Also, the Barron's book has great tests, and Barron's 36 has good strategies to do well. If you really think that a private tutor would help, and they of course have the knowledge to help you, by all means, if you feel you should then do so. Also, look around CC ACT Prep, many people have posted "guides" for certain sections and helpful tips. Good Luck and practice, practice, practice!!!

here is a guide that may help you get your head around the basics of the English Test. The company I tutor at just released it for free:

Good luck. All you can do is work hard and try your best.

Also, I 100% agree with SouthernBelle that practice is key. That guide is a nice starting point - but from there start taking those Real ACT Tests.
