Oct test date: When will COLLEGES receive scores?

I know that one the ACT website it says we will be able to access our scores from that test date on November 13th. However, when do the colleges receive your scores if you pre-register to send them from that test date? Do they get them on November 13th or later? I have a school that needs them by the 15th and I am stressing. The act website is pretty vague about when the schools actually receive them.

If you call them and ask about your particular college they are way more helpful than SAT. They explained to me that electronic scores (requested after your scores are up) takes 3 days electronically and then however long until the college gets around to matching them up...someone suggested that if you call admissions (or email your admissions counselor)that they will be arriving they will know that they are coming...colleges do take some time as you might have seen putting all the information together. I think you are OK.

I heard for the September ACT, that a lot of colleges were receiving scores before students received them online.

I talked to the person from the college today and they definitely said the scores had to be in by the 15th. If they aren't, I would get moved to regular admissions which makes it i twice as hard to get into the school.

Also, I wouldn't be electronically sending them AFTER I receive my scores. I am just doing the automatic one before I actually take it. Does that speed up the process?

Call ACT they will have best info. Have you sent scores already? The colleges my S is applying to said if they already have existing score (SAT or ACT) application is considered complete. They will still take the later scores.

I called and the lady kept saying how I might not necessarily be able to see my scores November 13th. What percentage of people can't see it on that day? I received my scores on the first day for the September test. Also I am taking it with writing.

On top of that she said the school I was wondering about receives them electronically about 1 day after I can see my score. Therefor, Nov 14th and before the 15th deadline. What do you all think?

It is out of your control. Forget about it. Things have a way of working out for the best. One suggestion is to email your admissions person to let them know they will be arriving, they deal with these issues all the time.

Should I call the school starting the 13th to see if they have the scores? The only thing I am worried about is that with the test scores coming in so late, I will have to wait for the last minute to submit my application via common app. Does the common app website have issues right before some of the major deadlines?

You can and probably should send in your Common Ap first. Never know what can happen. Have you send in any scores?

No I haven't. At this point I don't know whether to wait until the 13th and send others via priority. How long does priority take? If I sent them regular today, when would they get the scores? Does it even matter what method I chose until Monday when they get this. Thanks!

Funny you should post that today. I called yesterday...colleges that receive electronically get it faster than priority (ACT can connect you to the appropriate department to find out whether your college does electronic, or it may be posted on the college's website NOT to send priority). Scores go out Mon Wed Fri and are received at the college the same day, just depends when the college downloads the information and updates the file so YOU can see it. Many colleges are extending deadlines because of Sandy a week to ten days. Storm did not affect ACT.

I haven't ordered them yet. I am almost 100% sure this school receives them online. Should I wait till monday to call the ACT people?

Basically I want to be able to see my scores before asking for any more, for the sake of simplicity is my new ones are better as well as money (not a huge deal).

However, I really don't want my scores to be late. Would you ask for them on monday and just pay the money or wait until wednesday (tuesday night for me)?
