FAQ for December ACT Test Takers

Many, including myself, have not received December scores. Please keep the following in mind:

* ACT does not upload scores continuously, they upload in CHUNKS. ACT uploads scores only on Wednesdays and Friday. They upload in the morning hours (central time). I have called ACT and confirmed this.

* If you DO NOT have your scores by Friday afternoon, DO NOT expect news scores to be uploaded until Wednesday, January 2nd or Friday January, 4th as ACT will be out on holiday. Efforts to access scores before these dates will be fruitless. This too has been confirmed via telephone.

* DO NOT expect long delays in score reports. The October test date is notorious for delays in score reporting only because it is the most popular test date. (Last date for ED applicants, seniors rushing to boost scores, etc...). ACT reports 10% of all scores are delayed because of student registering errors. As December is one of the least popular test dates, the number of delays will accordingly be smaller.

As always, this is all in theory. I hope everyone will get scores by tomorrow morning, and if not--take it out on ACT, not me.

Thanks for your info. My scores haven't come out yet, so I'll check tomorrow.

I have an AP Gov project to finish.

Does everyone else's profile on ACTstudent.org who doesn't have their scores yet say "You have no test dates to view." I would assume that this is what everyone has, right...?

So does this also imply that the writing scores won't be available until January either?

Man ACT is freaking annoying. I hate waiting for scores. I still have to send the scores to a lot of the colleges and deadlines are coming up.

Update

***

I have just called ACT and confirmed the following:

* ACT has finished uploading all scores for the day.
* ACT WILL resume the scoring process after Christmas with more scores to be posted on Friday, December 28th (despite what is stated in the OP).

Hang on tight. I have not received scores either, and they told me a large portion of the scores are still in the scoring process and haven't been uploaded yet. Just hope for Friday.
