Anybody else's school that does not recognize the ACT?

At my highschool NOBODY knows about the ACT, the counselors and teachers are all focused on the SAT. And it's assumed that if you make high, which at my school is 1200-1300, then your smart and you can definitely get into any school of choice, but if you score lower, than your assumed dumber. We have a SAT prep class but you can only take it if you can somehow fit it into your schedule, which is slightly impossible for me with band and AP classes. Other than that, there is no such thing as prep for the SAT or ACT at my school. Either your good at standerdized tests or not.

I really do not know what I would of done without CC. I'm studying intenstly for the upcoming ACT with the Red Book, PR, and Sparknotes online. I feel so much better realizing that you can actually practice these kind of tests and get better at them.

Now to my question, does anybody else's school totally overshadow the ACT? And do they even provide/suggest study material for the SAT,ACT,SATII?

My school doesn't talk about the ACT at all. They have a cheap booklet for it in the guidance office and that's it. The rest is completely focused on the SAT.

i think my school is kind of the opposite. the nearby univeristy, where students can do post-secondary stuff (dual enrollment, i think its called?), emphasizes that it prefers the ACT from high school applicants. but then again, i live in ohio

My school emphasizes the SAT but always encourages you to try the SAT and reminds you that it's an option. In the SAT prep we devoted a day to it. I think it's a good way to do it, and it seems as though the majority of students give the ACT a try.

My school is the COMPLETE opposite. It's ACT all the way. Not many even take the SAT once, and even fewer take subject tests. Actually, I think I may be the only person in my class that's taken subject tests.
I have friends at other schools who don't even know what the SAT is out of, or how many sections there are. But that's the midwest for you.

my counselors recognize the ACT and encourage students to take it if they don't do well on the SAT. However, there are few students at my school who consider the ACT. I'm sure almost 90% of the students couldn't tell what the ACT is out of or what sections are on the test. Luckily, I was one of the few who took the ACT at my school and it worked out well!

oh and my school is on the east coast.
