should i spend my time preparing for the ACT?

I took both the SAT and ACT twice and here are my scores:

SAT: 1940
CR- 720
W- 630
M- 580

ACT:
1st time- 27
2nd time- 28 (also, not much time in between the two tests and little prep)

I'm wondering whether it's worth trying to prepare for both. I want to bring my ACT up to at least a 30 and my SAT up to a 2050+
I'd like to do both of those things and I still have time to prep, but I guess I'm kind of wondering which one of those scores would be easier to bring up to my target scores. I'm definately taking the SAT again, but is a 30+ feasible considering I'm preparing for two different tests (not that some skilled don't apply to both). Science and Math are my weakest sections by far and writing could use a little improvement too because I want it to make up for a poor math or science score. Reading I'm fine with.

I'd also like to get an idea how good of a score a 28 is considered to be. I know it's above average and above the 90th percentile, but what good east coast schools could it qualify me for? I've been on collegeboard and looked at the middle 50% but I'd just like to get some input from people.

I'd focus primarily on math since that's what's bringing both your SAT and ACT scores down. You could just not take the ACT again and just take the SAT with the goal of trying to raise that Math section, it's less stressful that way.

For ACT, 28 is usually amazing. But for people on CC, 28 is a piece of cake... However, no matter what other people say, 28's probably good enough for some scholarships and a good school. However, I think if you study for it and target your weakest points, I think you can at least get a 30, but it's your choice.

I thought a 28 was a good score until I came on here. haha. I want to apply to american university, BU, george washington, villanova, and northeaster. I thought my ACT score was good enough for those schools, but people on here make you feel like you need a 34 to get anywhere.
