Right when we were about to start the test some kid raised his hand and said "i don't want to take the essay one anymore" we had to wait 10 mins for the proctor to get all the paperwork and walk the kid down the hall. The proctor comes back and we're about to start again and the same kid comes back and says "nevermind, I'll take it."

Then some girl kept asking why can't I used a mechanical pencil.. I used it on the SAT and nothing happened. The proctor kept telling her no. Then during the first break she asks him again and he walked up to her with the book and showed her. Then she used it I guess cause the proctor went up to her during the reading and took it from her and told her she'd get it back at the end.

Like what the hell, no means no..

Yeah, the girl should have stopped.... but it is kind of a ridiculous rule. I've heard they only have it because they're worried that someone could replace the lead with something other than #2.... but I've heard they only ask students to use #2 because it is dark. I'm pretty sure nothing would happen if someone use a mechanical pencil.

My proctor said you can use it but she would have to write it down as an irregularity and explained that they don't want people to use mechanical because they are more pointy and could cause holes in the paper...

I bought a thing of mechanical pencils that said "SAT/ACT approved!" I bought it and showed it to the proctor because they really are much better and he said no

haha the proctor started collecting the booklets right after the comprehension section, right before the science section because she thought it was over but everyone had to stop her.

Great stories everyone! In the June testing session a student asked the proctor mid-test if he could use the restroom as he wasn't feeling well. He literally took one step out of the door and thud, he dropped like a rock. I am assuming it was stress related but our proctor sprinted out of the room and got people to help him. Long story short they gave him water and the trooper came back in and did the reading and science sections. What a boss!

Haha the one about passing calculators out made me laugh. The boy next to me had his cell phone out but he didn't get caught. He also looked up at the clock like every two minutes. One girl came from like 1:30 minutes away....One of my friends who was taking the ACT there (Not in my room) Was already satisified with his scores so he was just gonna mess around...he brought a advertising calculator with liquid in it, and I heard he dropped it and it started leaking. He's a really funny guy so he raises his hand and goes "Sir, my calculator is leaking". I wasn't there but I would probably laugh and loose focus XDDDD. I had a watch on my desk and the proctor told me it had to be put away, I told her that were encouraged to bring watches and she told me the same thing. Then I asked her if I could put it on my wrist, and she nodded and walked away....

The proctor read the instructions in a way that it sounded like you could not write in the test booklet or on scratch paper. Luckily (for first time test takers) someone asked to clarify after the English section and he said "Of course you can write in your booklet!"
