One Last Chance- The ACTs

Hey you all, I having a couple questions on the ACTs, and I think this would be the best place to go. First, I have a 2120 on my SATs, with a 670 Math, 690 Critical Reading, and a 760 Writing. When it comes to math, I am actually pretty good, getting a 6 on the IB Math test last year, while I am pretty good at English and Writing. I am applying to some top notch schools, so I am aiming for around a 34 on the ACTs to give myself an actual chance. I have yet to take the ACTs, because I just kept trying to do well on the SATs, but I think that I should attempt it because I do very well in school and I have heard school performance correlates A BIT better to ACT scores and SAT scores.

So, what I am getting around to under all this unnecessary information is that I am planning to take the ACTs in Dec. and I was wondering if you all had any pointers. Books? Tips? I have only ONE chance on this, so I need to do my best the first time.

Princeton Review: Cracking the ACT. Take the practice tests with the actual time limits, and you'll score high. I took a couple full-length exams out of here and scored a 30 the first and only time I took the test.

^ How did you do on the SATs? What was the hardest section? While a 30 is nice, I am looking for a score which is better than the 2120, so a 33 or above, preferably 34 or higher, would be perfect.

Practice in the book for the time limit. If you aren't prepared, you'll find yourself getting annihilated by shortness of time vs. the SAT.

The most difficult part of the ACT is the time restrictions. In order to hit your mark, I definitely suggest that you purchase the red ACT book (the real act I think its called; it uses actual ACT tests) and work every practice test with the time restraints.

As for direct preparation, I have found that the Princeton Review's English and Math sections are excellent. Good luck!
