Where do I stand?

I just took the plan/got a 28.
I've been primarily studying the SAT for a while now, as I want a shot at the ivies, but I those schools seem to accept the ACT also.

Where do I stand as a sophomore. 28/32, would mean somewhere between a 32 on the actual thing?

What books to buy?
I'm going to get my hands on the Red Book, as everyone seems to be praising it.
The 1296 Questions book sounds good also.

Anything else?

Well I got a 24 on the Plan, and then a 29 on the Practice ACT. So, you did very well! I would expect you to get like 31+ on the ACT

My son got 27 on the plan, and 35 on the ACT! That was with some focused prep from the red book, and a couple of hours of private tutoring for the reading/writing sections.
