Decatur Book Festival and Agnes Scott

Just thought I'd mention that the Decatur Book Festival, which is held Labor Day weekend every year in the city of Decatur (walking distance from Agnes Scott), is absolutely wonderful. Students should take advantage of this opportunity to meet authors, publishers, and book sellers. There are lectures, panal discussions, writing workshops held on Agnes Scott's campus, booths with authors and book sellers and other members of the community, etc... We had a great time and it's also a good time to see what the City of Decatur has to offer (TONS of restaurants - well over 30 - shops, library, post office, churches, entertainment venues, recreation center, and much more.) Plus, the CLIFF shuttle runs Monday through Friday, picking up at the Decatur Marta Station on Swanson Dr. and the CLIFF runs to Emory University's Campus and area - making it easy to visit that school and check out all their activities. Plus, Marta also runs downtown to Georgia State's campus.
