I've also been in Choir (JV and Varsity level) the choirs I've been in won top rating in our region. I also partcipate in UIL competitions as a soloist and receive 1's. Ihave also participated in 2 school musicals (they're huge in our town)

I have also been president of a Nigerian ethnic group for youth for two years. I've also volunteered at my local church for four years as a summer counselor for VBS (Vacation Bible School). And I've also been a volunteer at a library for two years.

Do you guys think I have a chance if I write amazing essays and bring my "specialness" up front?
And can anyoe tell me about the atmosphere on campus and things to do in Decatur
Thanks for your input.

you should be fine to get in.
have a decent interview, if you do that, and you should be strolling through Decatur in the fall.

There is so much to do in Decatur and nearby Oakhurst Village and Atlanta. The atmosphere on campus is fairly quiet and studious compared to some schools, but its location in Decatur lends it a lot of vibrancy. Decatur has a very cute square and main street with boutiques, galleries, and many places to eat from fast food to cafes and fine food. It is quite a diverse community, so you will feel very comfortable. It's convenient to public transportation if you don't have a car, but you can walk most anywhere in Decatur. Atlanta is about 20 minutes by car. Oakhurst is about 3-5 minutes away by car, and is a small, funky village with a bit more edge.

ASC takes a holistic approach to applicants, and doesn't necessarily look only at GPA and SATs. To counter balance the Cs and the low math score, you want to write a killer essay that really talks about who you are. Make sure your entire package tells a story and doesn't sound like everyone else's story. Get good recommendations too. ASC is very big on personal character and the Honor Code, so keep that in mind.

Good luck!
